Today I want to encourage everyone to take a minute and see the blessings that you have been given. I don’t know what you may be struggling with, or what your future looks like, but I know that I personally have been known to get caught up and not see the blessings before me. This may be why I love the song below.
How often do we look with eyes unseeing? Not noticing the beauty around us in the everyday ordinariness. The sun that shines to warm our skin, the beauty of the trees and flowers in bloom, the shadows cast by the sun, the sounds of the birds call, and the beauty of nature.
In the ordinariness of the every day life, the smiles of children, the moments never to be again, the conversations at work, the moments of God’s grace, the moments of favor, the joy of a job well done.
The joy of daily interactions with others, of moments spent when everyone needs my attention at the same time, and all it means is that in that moment, as crazy as it feels at the time, I am popular, needed and well loved.
These things are the blessings that we often take for granted. May God give us eyes to see, and ears to hear, so that we don’t waste our blessings or take one single one for granted.
